Production Our production places increase flexibility and capacity With our own production in Ukraine, Turkey and China Actona Company is ready to produce products quickly and get them to the customers. China Since March 2009 Actona has been looking for an upholstery factory in China and in August 2009 we succeeded in taking over a factory in the South of China. The new upholstery factory, "Actona Seating Ltd." which is more than twice as large as the old factory - 50.000 m2 and 600 employees - will mainly be producing the major share of the Actona range of products whereas Actona Sofa Corporation will be producing some cheaper models in a large number. The factory consists of 4500 square metres of administration and showroom. The remaining square metres are used for production and residence. At full capacity the factory will be able to produce sofas corresponding to 400 containers per month.  The other Actona factory in China, Actona Sofa Corporation, has more than 400 employees and they make upholstery furniture. App. 22.000 seats are produced here every month. We have 16.000 square metres for production in Dongguan. The sofas are being delivered directly to Actona customers in Europe, the USA and Australia as well as to the warehouses in Denmark, the United Kingdom and China. Actona Sofa Corporation started as a joint venture co-operation in 2005 and in March 2007 it was taken over 100% by Actona Company. Just like for the other factories Actona is dealing with in the South of China, the quality control is made by Actona Asia South which is the Actona quality controller in the South of China. In the autumn of 2006 Actona established a new office in Shanghai which is handling the activites in the North of China. Turkey Actona Company A/S was originally "Marmorhuset A/S", because the primary product was marble furniture. Today the product range, however, expanded to include much more than marble. Natural stone is still one of our absolute core competences, and we are extracting and processing raw materials at our production facilities in Turkey. From the quarries large blocks are taken to Actona Company's factory. Here a modern machine park and a number of proud trade traditions turn the marbles into beautiful furniture or parts of this. Each of our natural stone furniture is a unique product, which nature has made through thousands of years. The Turkish factory of Actona Company produces some of the world's finest marble products. At the Marble factory in Turkey Actona Company has 10,000 sqm. production and 270 employees.
Ukraine Actona Company purchased in April 2008 the Ukrainian furniture factory, Ambiente Furniture. To ensure full control over the increasing production in Ukraine Actona Company has taken over the Ukrainian factory unit - and it is made with a natural belief that we continue to grow within the range of upholstery. Actona Company has in just one year doubled production capacity - and the goal is a further doubling in the next six months. We have today 5,000 sqm. production in Ukraine. Ambiente Furniture has 270 employees, most of which are associated with production - but the factory also has natural functions of production planning, procurement, etc. |
