Actona and Interstil are merging

Two of the largest furniture companies in Denmark, Actona Company A/S and Interstil A/S, are merging, becoming one of the largest furniture suppliers in Europe with a total turnover of over DKK 1.7 billion.

The two companies already have the same owner, in the form of Lars Larsen Group, which has been a co-owner of Interstil A/S since 2004 and which became the majority shareholder in Actona Company A/S in 2015.

“Interstil and Actona have each built up a strong international market position in furniture with a modern design. The two companies’ ranges complement each other well, and I am certain that the merger will allow us to offer our customers even better solutions in future,” says Torben Skov Villadsen, CEO of Actona Company A/S.

Huge opportunities Torben Skov Villadsen will continue as CEO of the new merged company, which will move forward under the name Actona Company A/S and will continue to have its head office at Actona Company’s present address in Tvis near Holstebro.

The current employees of Interstil and Actona will be offered jobs in the new company, and Torben Skov Villadsen is looking forward to their collaboration. “I am looking forward to working with the skilled managers and employees who have helped to develop Interstil. I am certain that they can ensure the continued success of the company together with the employees at Actona, who I have worked with for many years,” says Torben Skov Villadsen. This also applies to the CEO of Interstil, Henrik Althoehn Henriksen, who in connection with the merger has chosen to retire from day-to-day management to make time for a number of other projects. However, Actona Company will continue to benefit from his knowledge and experience as he is joining the board of directors.

Like Torben Skov Villadsen, Henrik Althoehn Henriksen is very pleased with the merger, which has the best possible foundation in the form of two companies with very exciting products.

“After several challenging years, Interstil is now in a very positive development phase. This is something the employees of Interstil have good reason to be proud of, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the development of the new merged company,” says Henrik Althoehn Henriksen.

The merger of the two companies enters into force on 1 September 2017.
